近日，来自美国职业篮球联盟NBA的休斯顿火箭队的总经理达雷尔·莫雷（Daryl Morey）在个人推特上发布了一条不当涉港言论，一时间引起轩然大波。
可以看到，图片上“fight for freedom, stand with Hong Kong”的字样顾名思义，就是“为自由而战，和香港站在一起”，相信明眼人都能看出来莫雷想传达的意思。
可以说，莫雷的推特可谓是一石激起千层浪，他殊不知自己的言论摊上了大事儿。
众所周知，由于姚明的原因，休斯顿火箭队和中国的球迷群体建立了深厚的感情。然而，莫雷此举无疑让无数中国火箭球迷伤了心。10月8日 ，总台央视体育宣布立即暂停NBA的转播，以及立即排查涉及NBA的一切合作交流。腾讯体育作为转播方也发出了“暂时封杀火箭队”的声明。
意识到了事件的严重性后，莫雷连发两推为自己辩解，可是字里行间丝毫没有道歉的意思，全文更是没有一个“Apologize”这样的正式道歉用语。
推文翻译：我之前所发推文无意冒犯中国的火箭球迷和我在那里的朋友。我只是基于一种解读来发表自己对一个复杂事件的看法。自那条推文发出之后，我获得了很多聆听和思考其他观点的机会。

随着事态的逐渐升级，身处东京参加NBA季前赛推广活动的NBA总裁亚当·肖华（Adam Silver）也对“莫雷推特事件”进行了回应。在回应中，肖华赤裸裸地对莫雷表达了支持。
"There is no doubt, the economic impact is already clear," he said. "There have already been fairly dramatic consequences from that tweet, and I have read some of the media suggesting that we are not supporting Daryl Morey, but in fact we have."“毫无疑问，经济方面的损失已经存在。莫雷的推特已经造成相当严重的后果，我看到有的媒体质疑说我们没有支持莫雷，事实上并非如此。”

当然，还有一些企业没有列出。与此同时呢，李易峰、白敬亭、吴谨言、蔡徐坤等艺人也停止了与NBA的一系列活动，包括球迷之夜和NBA中国赛。
10月9日，NBA总裁亚当·肖华连夜抵达上海，他表示，“我真心希望，我能在上海与相关部门好好交流，取得他们的理解。我只希望中国球迷和赞助商们看在过去三十年的联络和感情上，能多多理解我们的立场”。
